How to do a takedown on a malicious domain which is registered through Namesilo.
Step 1:
Access the Namesilo website (https://www.namesilo.com/) and then to the Report Abuse page found at https://www.namesilo.com/report_abuse.php. Review the information available regarding abuse reports.
Step 2:
The form fill on the URL will allow users to report a domain for being involved in several types of abuse (see screenshot below). However, as noted in the available information, Namesilo states the preferred processes that should be followed prior to any notification.
Step 3:
Within the available information, Namesilo provides a special link to use to report cases of phishing in which they may be of help. Examples of such cases would be phishing the domain path or phishing on an uncompromised URL on the domain. To report such cases, click the “file a report here” link.
Step 4:
Once on the Report Phishing page found at https://new.namesilo.com/phishing_report.php, carefully review the form and add the requested information.
Step 5:
In the “Real Website” section, be sure to include the URL to the official website that is being impersonated. In the “Phishing Website” be sure to include, be sure to include the shortest URL string that resolves to the phishing attempt to steal a username and password.
Step 6: Lastly, upload a screenshot of the abuse showing the phishing URL in the browser bar and complete the free form “Report” section explaining how the entire domain is involved in the fraudulent activity and request that the domain be suspended. The explanation might include details such as it is newly registered and is confusing similar to the official domain. Once complete, press the SUBMIT button.
Step 7:
Namesilo will not respond immediately with a confirmation but will review the complaint and provide a determination by email within several days.
