How to do a takedown on a malicious domain that is registered through Name.com
Step 1:
Access the Name.com website (Name.com | Domain Names, Registration, Websites & Hosting) through your preferred web browser. The demonstration provided below pertains to the Chrome browser.
Step 2:
Proceed to the first box which requires you to fill out your first name, please put in your first name.
Once you have filled out your first name please enter your last name. You can follow the example below.
Step 3:
Next, proceed to the next box, which asks you to enter your email address. Please enter a valid email address in case the registrar needs to reach out. You can follow the example below.
Step 4:
Next, proceed to the next box, which will ask for the malicious domain involved in the abuse. Please enter the malicious domain in that box. You can follow the example below.
Step 5:
Choose the type of infringement from the options provided. It seems like there is a placeholder “Choose one.” Click on it, and a dropdown menu or a set of options should appear. Select the relevant option that describes the type of infringement you are reporting. You can follow the example below.
Step 6:
Next, provide any additional information related to the infringement. This could include details about the nature of the infringement, specific incidents, or any other relevant details. If you have supporting documents, you can mention them here.
Step 7:
If you have any supporting documents, click on the “Upload a file” button. This will likely open a file explorer on your device. Select the relevant document and upload it. Usually, it is best to upload the infringing material and proof that you are allowed to act upon the item you are reporting.
Step 8:
Next, please agree to all three boxes to proceed. Then, select ‘I am not a robot.’ Once the captcha is verified, you will be allowed to submit the form.
Step 9:
Please click submit. You will then receive a response from the registrar who will let you know the next steps.
