[How to article] Takedown Phishing Domains/URLs on Public Domain Registry (PDR)

How to report malicious domains that are registered through the Public Domain Registry.

Step 1:

Navigate to: https://publicdomainregistry.com/process-for-handling-abuse/

Step 2:

Please select the first option which is “DOMAIN ABUSE” (because we are reporting a domain that is registered through the Public Domain Registry)

Step 3:

Now we will select the Abuse type that we want to report. (here we are selecting “Phishing”)


Step 4:

Now on the phishing form, we have to submit our details and the reporting domain’s details.

  • Your Name: Bolster
  • Domain Name: abcdefg13.com (please make sure to only add the domain with the TLD as shown mentioned)
  • Your Email Address: [email protected]
  • Attachment: Please add any attachment that can support your request and the Public Domain Registry’s team can help better in taking down the malicious domain.
  • Detailed Complaint:

Example:

The reported URL is a phishing site of (YOUR BRAND), and actively targeting my customers/users into a phishing attack.

Please note that my legit URL is: http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com

Malicious URL: www.abcdefg13.com

I kindly request you to please suspend the malicious domain.

Step 5:

  1. Please accept the “Terms and Services and the privacy policy notice”
  2. Click on the Send button, and your report is submitted.

NOTE:

  • They will send a general acknowledgment with a ticket number to the email address that you have submitted.
  • Please allow them 72 business working hours before reaching out to them again.
