How to do a takedown on a malicious domain which is registered through Tucows.
Step 1:
Go to the official Tucows website and review the Report Abuse information provided at Tucows Domains - Report Abuse to understand what type of abuse they will action and which type of abuse should be reported where.
Step 2:
To report cases of phishing in which the domain itself is involved in the fraudulent activity, scroll down to the Phishing and pharming section and click on the highlighted Phishing Report link which leads to the form fill at Tucows Domains - Phishing complaint.
Step 3:
Complete all the require fields. If the activity does not pertain email abuse coming from email address on the domain, include the applicable information. If the abuse does not involve email activity, leave those fields empty and make certain to include not only the domain name but also the URL on the domain where the phishing activity is visible.
Step 4:
Complete the free form “Subject” and “Your Message” sections explaining how the entire domain is involved in the fraudulent activity. The explanation should include a reference to the official website that is being impersonated as well as details such as if the fraudulent domain is newly registered or confusingly similar to the official domain. Be sure to include a request that the domain be suspended in the message then click the “Submit” button.
Step 5:
Tucows will quickly reply by email that includes information about the report submitted and confirms they have received the request. They will send another email that provides their determination on the domain suspension.
