[How to article] How to report Scam Hub on Faceit

Introduction

In this article we will look at Faceit related scam in Steam, more specifically how to report it to Faceit. You can see an example of a typical scam message below.

The idea behind this scam is that the victim must go to the official Faceit website and join the team. However, the team is closed, and the description says that you need to register on another website. The link in the description is a phishing scam.

Step 1: Go to the official faceit website and search for the team with the name that the bot told you about.

Step 2: Copy the link to the team. In our case it is hxxps://www[.]faceit[.].com/en/teams/a9a900a1-aabf-40f8-bbcc-4a30d81bb956

Step 3: Go to the Faceit support page - https://support.faceit.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Fill Out the Form:

  • Email: Which you want Faceit support to respond to.
  • Contact Reason: Select “Scam Hub/Organiser”.
  • FACEIT Profile URL/Account Name: Paste the link you copied in step 2.
  • Game: Select the game where you encountered the scam. In this case, it’s CS2.
  • Game ID (optional): Ignore this field.
  • Subject: Briefly describe the scam in the subject line (e.g., “Phishing Attempt on FACEIT”).
  • Description: Here’s where you detail the scam. Be clear and concise, including:
    • How the scam happened (e.g., phishing message, fake website).
    • Names or aliases of any users involved.
    • Attach your screenshots or evidence. In our case, I will attach a screenshot which is in the Introduction field.

Example of a filled out form:

Step 4: Click on “Submit.”

You will receive an confirmation of the request at the email address you provided in step 1.

Faceit’s support usually responds to phishing issues within a week, so be prepared to wait. You will receive a response telling you that the specified team and user have been blocked, or a reason why it didn’t happen.
